Anju Seth, professor
of strategic management, joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
in 1994. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Delhi
University, India, and was honored with the first-position gold medal.
She received her MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta,
and was awarded the DVC silver medal. Dr. Seth received her Ph.D. from
the University of Michigan, where she specialized in corporate strategy.Dr. Seth worked for several years with the Management Consultancy Division of A. F. Ferguson and Co., India. Her international consulting experience includes assignments in the areas of corporate strategy, project evaluation, marketing and distribution, information systems, organization structure, developmental planning, and public policy for organizations ranging from small entrepreneurial firms to large multinational corporations. A number of her scholarly papers have appeared in prestigious publications, including the Handbook of Business Strategy, Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of Management Studies and the Strategic Management Journal. She has received numerous awards for her research and is frequently invited to present papers at international conferences and universities. Dr. Seth has taught courses in strategic management, international strategy, and industry and competitive analysis, and has directed undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs in acquisitions, corporate restructuring, corporate governance, foreign direct investment, and environmental management.
